Play Therapy Abused Children

The disadvantages of play therapy for child abuse?
I need to know some of the disadvantages of using play therapy to treat children who are victims abuse … Thank you.
A major drawback for me is sticking out, play therapy is not directly related to the abuse. Play therapy can be seen as a distraction to the real problem. I am sure this type of therapy has positive effects in the short term, but may be more difficult for the victim of abuse later life. The victim can suppress the abuse of use of play therapy but over time the memories come back as they grow older. (Not always, but more often than no.)
